USFK launches Gray Eagle UAS unit, says report

United States Forces Korea (USFK) has launched a unit of the General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc (GA-ASI) MQ-1C Gray Eagle medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial system (UAS) in South Korea as part of efforts to enhance its capabilities in the region, the Yonhap news agency reported on 21 February.

“The Second Infantry Division plans to put the advanced unmanned aircraft system into full operation in April next year, with its first flight slated for this spring,” USFK was quoted by the media outlet as saying in a statement.
