Islamic State-claimed attack kills five women in Russia's North Caucasus

FIVE women were killed and at least five others - including two security forces personnel - were wounded when a gunman opened fire at a church in the village of Kizlyar in Dagestan in Russia's North Caucasus region on 18 February, Reuters reported. Reports added that the 22-year-old assailant - identified as Khalil Khalilov - was shot dead by security forces following the attack. A hunting rifle, knife and an unspecified quantity of bullets were seized from the attacker. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
