Two IAF pilots die in aircraft crash in northeast India

Two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots died on 15 February when their Pipistrel Virus SW 80 Garud ultralight aircraft crashed in the northeastern Indian state of Assam during a routine sortie.

The incident took place at about 1200 h (local time) after the aircraft took off from Air Force Station Jorhat, the Indian government’s Press Information Bureau said in a statement, adding that a court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
