The Slovak Ministry of Defence (MoD) said it is reviewing an ongoing EUR60 million (USD74.8 million) tender for 3D mobile air defence radar (MADR) systems that it issued in early 2015.
“If we reach the conclusion that we will cancel the process of selecting a new 3D radar that has been followed to this point, then it will be based on weighing all surrounding circumstances and doing a close evaluation of the events that led to the acceptance of this decision,” MoD spokesperson Danka Capakova told Jane's on 14 February.
The latest statement comes on the heels of an earlier MoD press release on 2 February announcing plans to cancel the 3D MADR tender to replace obsolete Russian-made P-37 medium-range analogue systems by 2020.
