Estonia to expand defence infrastructure

14 February 2018

Over the next four years EUR96 million (USD118 million) is to be invested in infrastructure for the Estonian Defence Forces (EDF) from the defence budget plan 2019-22, Estonian Ministry of Defence sources told Jane’s on 13 February.

This will fund the construction of the EDF's new command centre and the extension of the Estonian National Defence College and its medical centre in Tartu. It will also be used for building training grounds, new barracks, headquarters renovation, residential buildings, new buildings at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Tallinn, ammunition depots, and housing self-propelled howitzers.
