13 February 2018

The US Navy (USN) is requesting USD459.52 million in its fiscal year 2019 (FY 2019) budget for continued development of the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ), which is designed to address current, emerging, and evolving Electronic Warfare gaps.

The navy will seek a total of USD1.58 billion for NGJ development between FY 2019 and FY 2022. The programme will begin low-rate initial production (LRIP) deliveries in FY 2022.

The NGJ-Mid Band (MB), formerly known as Increment 1, will address gaps against enemy threats operating in the middle frequency bands of the electromagnetic spectrum.
