Privately-owned local company Consub Defesa e Tecnologia was awarded a contract to upgrade the SICONTA Mk II CMS to SICONTA Mk II Mod 1 standard as part of Project ‘Fênix’ in December 2013. That contract is expected to be amended to account for the change. SICONTA MKII was developed by Brazil’s Navy Research Institute.
