L3 Technologies (L3) announced on 4 February that it had been selected by BAE Systems to support the company’s bid for the Royal Australian Navy’s Sea 5000 Future Frigate programme.
L3 will work with BAE Systems’ Power and Propulsion team by providing the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) for the bid. BAE Systems is bidding the Type 26 Global Combat Ship.
The IPMS system is to be delivered to Australian industry for integration from L3’s MAPPS business unit based in Canada and the United Kingdom.
In addition to the IPMS equipment, L3 announced it will also be providing the Controls and Instrumentation system for the vessels.
