Italian group Leonardo plans a significant expansion in the Asia-Pacific region as part of its newly announced 2018-2022 Industrial Plan that aims to boost global exports, an executive from the company told Jane’s on 7 February.
Speaking at the Singapore Airshow, Marco Buratti, Leonardo’s senior vice-president for international marketing and strategic campaigns, said the plan – announced by the group in late January – includes a target to achieve total orders of EUR70 billion (USD87 billion) by 2022.
Of this total, 60% (or about USD52 billion) is targeted in international orders, with 20% of this (or about USD10.4 billion) sourced from the Asia-Pacific region, he said.
