The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) will homeport its entire fleet of six Kedah (Meko 100 RMN)-class corvettes with the service’s Eastern Fleet at Sepanggar Naval Base in Sabah, a service spokesperson has confirmed with Jane’s .
The vessels were previously based with the RMN’s Western Fleet in Lumut, Perak, on Peninsular Malaysia, and the redeployment is being made as part of the service’s 15-to-5 transformation programme, said the spokesperson.
