Canadian Special Forces receive new DAGOR Ultra-Light Combat Vehicles

31 January 2018

The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) on 25 January received its first Ultra-Light Combat Vehicles (ULCVs) from Polaris.

Under the CAD23 million (USD19 million) contract, announced in December 2016, CANSOFCOM is to receive 62 vehicles in total and deliveries will run through April 2018. The deal includes logistics and support for two years.

The UCLV is based on Polaris’ DAGOR vehicle, but has integrated CANSOFCOM’s specific equipment and communications, Stephen Panciocco, a programme manager for Polaris Government and Defense, told Jane’s on 31 January. “It also features a 750-lb increase in payload and improved operator functionality for customers,” Panciocco said.
