SVBIED attack kills at least 103 people in Afghanistan's Kabul

AT LEAST 103 people were killed and 235 others were wounded when a Taliban militant detonated a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) near a police checkpoint in Chicken Street shopping zone in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on 27 January, BBC News reported. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Reports added that the attacker - who was driving an ambulance - passed a security checkpoint after he told police he was taking a patient to a nearby hospital before detonating.
