The French ambassador in Mauritania handed over 10 4x4 pickup ACMAT Light Tactical Vehicles (ALTVs) to the Mauritanian Army on 25 January.
The vehicles are destined to equip the Mauritanian component of the G5 Sahel joint anti-terrorist force that also has detachments from Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, and Niger.
The French donation was part of an EUR8 million (USD10 million) equipment package that France has pledged for the G5 Sahel force.
