Harris Corporation’s Radio Frequency (RF) Communications division has been awarded a US Foreign Military Sales contract worth an estimated USD44.85 million to supply a command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (C4ISTAR) capability to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). The contract includes the provision of programme management, design, systems engineering, integration and test, installation, post-installation test, training, and maintenance.
The new system will include a microwave communications backbone and a satellite communications (SATCOM) capability, linking a number of AFP command centres. This will replace the existing legacy microwave and SATCOM systems.
A mobile capability will also be provided, extending the reach beyond that of the current system.
