The governments of France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, under the auspices of the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR), have signed a new five-year In Service Support (ISS) contract with Eurosam – a Franco-Italian consortium jointly owned by MBDA France/MBDA Italy (66%), and the Thales Group (33%).
OCCAR is an inter-governmental organisation which facilitates and manages the through-life management of European co-operative defence equipment programmes, as well as Technology Demonstrator programmes.
Under the provisions of the new contract, Eurosam will provide in-service support for French and Italian land and naval surface-to-air missile systems – which include the Surface-to-Air Anti-Missile (SAAM-FR and SAAM-IT), Principal Anti-Air Missile System (PAAMS), and Sol-Air Moyenne Portée Terrestre (SAMP/T) – and all Aster missiles (Aster 15, Aster 30, and Aster 30 Block 1) in French, Italian and UK service.
