Luch trials new interceptor with upgraded S-125 Neva/Pechora system

Ukrainian State Design Bureau ‘Luch’ from Kiev, in collaboration with Radionix, on 15 January conducted a successful test of a new missile interceptor – designated 5V27D-M2 – with a modernised version of the S-125 Neva/Pechora (SA-3a ‘Goa’ Mod 0) surface-to-air missile (SAM) system.

According to Luch, the new radar-guided interceptor increases the probability-kill range of the modernised Pechora system to 40 km, with a maximum altitude of 25 km.
