North Korea continues work on second SLBM test barge, says 38 North

17 January 2018

Commercial satellite imagery captured on 6 January indicates that North Korea is continuing work on its second submersible ballistic missile test stand barge berthed at the Nampo Naval Shipyard on the country's west coast, according to a report published on 16 January by the 38 North website.

Following the barge's move to a nearby fitting-out dock in November 2017, "there is now a small floating crane moored alongside the barge, and its boom is extended over it", reported 38 North, which is a programme run by the US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University's Paul H Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.
