Nigerian Army partners with local vehicle manufacturer

08 January 2018

Nigeria’s Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) announced on 3 January that it had gone into partnership with the Nigerian Army to design and produce armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs).

IVM is based in Nnewi in the southeast state of Anambra and has previously delivered G12 4x4 utility vehicles to the Nigerian Army, but does not currently produce any armoured vehicles.

The company said the partnership involves the immediate supply of 100 vehicles, the supply of parts for repairing and modifying armoured vehicles in the northeast, and identifying the requirements for producing AFVs at the Nigerian Army Central Workshop in Kaduna.
