US DoJ flexes muscles and unwinds second A&D merger

The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has obliged Transdigm to divest Schroth Safety Products, 10 months after the company was purchased from Takata Corporation; the latest example in a month of US regulators flexing their muscles by unwinding transactions on competition grounds.

Transdigm announced the purchase of Schroth – a maker of aerospace, defence and automotive safety devices such as seats and harnesses – for USD90 million in cash in February 2017.
