BAE Systems has boosted its relationship with Czech industry ahead of its CV90 pitch to the Czech Republic.
On 19 December, the company announced that it had signed a contract with Czech sheet metal fabrication firm Laser Centrum to support work on the Mjölner (Hammer of Thor) self-propelled mortar system, which is being integrated onto the Swedish Army’s fleet of CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs).
Laser Centrum, which was established in 2006, manufactures sheet metal products, and can also undertake laser cutting, metal bending, and welding.
BAE Systems Hagglunds was awarded a contract in December 2016 to install 120 mm Mjölner twin mortar systems on 40 CV90s, which are currently in storage.
