Security forces reportedly kill Taliban Red Unit commander in Afghanistan's Farah

IN A STATEMENT issued on 14 December, a Ministry of Defence spokesperson General Dawlat Waziri announced that an alleged Taliban commander of the Red Unit, who was also a military commission chief - identified as Daud Muzamil - had succumbed to wounds following a military airstrike in Khak-e Safid district in Afghanistan's Farah province on an earlier unspecified date, Khaama Press reported. The statement added that at least eight people had been killed and seven others had been wounded during the airstrike.
