Rheinmetall Electronics revealed its new OSIRIS constructive simulation command and staff training system at the 2017 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) exhibition in Orlando in November. This is a comprehensive upgrade of the existing system based on Rheinmetall’s TacSi technology, previously provided by the company to two Middle Eastern countries believed by Jane’s , but not confirmed, to be Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
OSIRIS is a constructive simulation that covers land operations from company to theatre level plus air and maritime operations. As well as command training it can act as a decision support system through the comparison of different courses of action and their possible outcomes, and also as an operational research tool for the development of operational concepts and tactical doctrine.
