The government of China will “spare no effort” in boosting private-sector participation in defence production activities, the state-run China Daily reported on 6 December citing a senior defence industry official.
In comments reported by the China Daily, Long Hongshan, chief engineer at China's State Administration for Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND) said the agency will pursue greater competition in the sector through newly published guidance that outlines methods to support the growth of the private sector in the defence domain.
Long was speaking at a media conference held by SASTIND to outline the agency’s role in supporting defence industrial development through the guidance that was published by the State Council on 4 December.
