A new artillery fire control simulator for the Colombian Army was revealed at the 2017 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) exhibition in Orlando in November.
Development of the Mobile Artillery Simulator (MAS) by a partnership of Florida-based ETech Simulation and Colombian firm Medios y Soluciones began in early 2017 in response to a requirement from the Colombian Army, which has ordered four systems. It provides training for forward observers, fire direction centres, and weapon crews.
MAS provides the usual capabilities associated with an artillery fires simulator, including fire planning, call-for-fire procedures, fire adjustment using a projected landscape, simulated communications and forward-observer equipment, and after-action review.
