Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is planning to roll out its Light Armed Helicopter (LAH) late next year, the Yonhap news agency reported on 5 December.
KAI is looking to start the final stage of the LAH’s assembly in May 2018 and roll out the first platforms in November, reported the media outlet, adding that the first flight of the helicopter is scheduled for May 2019.
“We are determined to fully develop the LAH by November 2022 to enhance our own defence capabilities following the development of the Surion transport utility helicopter,” an engineer at KAI’s development team was quoted by Yonhap as saying in a company announcement.
