Poland’s WZL-1 military aviation company delivered on 30 November the last two of three Mil Mi-24 helicopters that it has repaired for Senegal. The two helicopters were loaded on an Antonov Airlines An-124-100 transport aircraft for shipment to Dakar, the company announced. The first Mi-24 was delivered in February.
WZL-1 has not revealed the origin of the helicopters, but Jane’s has previously reported that the three Senegalese Mi-24Vs are ex-Slovakian Armed Forces aircraft that were acquired by a Polish company in 2015. Another two Mi-24Vs from the same source were refurbished by WZL-1 and delivered to Cameroon in 2016.
