Boeing and Aircraft Philipp Group have announced the signing of a five-year contract that will see the latter manufacture parts for the CH-47 Chinook rotorcraft in Germany.
To be manufactured in facilities in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg specifically, the new deal will see Aircraft Philipp Group add to Boeing’s 35-strong supplier base based in this region, and some 100 companies it has contracts with that are based in Germany.
In an effort to increase its supplier base in Germany, Boeing held a training workshop in May 2017 to introduce Germany industry to Boeing’s source selection and bid process, the company says, which was attended by Aircraft Philipp and 22 other companies.
