BAE Systems will transfer some expertise relating to its Hawk trainer aircraft to a maintenance provider in the United Arab Emirates to support the domestic air force’s fleet of export-specific models.
The OEM signed an agreement with Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center (AMMROC), it announced on 15 November, renewing an agreement between the two companies that was already in place, which will now run to 2020.
A “bespoke level” of access to the engineering behind the Hawk Mk61, 63, and 102 variants of the trainer will be granted to AMMROC, which will also manage the supply of spares and repairs.
