BAE Systems has commenced series production of the advanced passive radio frequency (RF) mid-course sensor equipping the US Navy’s (USN’s) new air-launched AGM-158C Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) following receipt of a USD40 million Lot 1 contract from LRASM prime contractor Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
Manufacture activities will be performed at BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems’ facilities in Nashua, New Hampshire, and Wayne, New Jersey. The Lot 1 award, covering the production of 30 systems, follows an August 2017 test shot that marked the first launch of a tactical configuration LRASM from a US Air Force (USAF) B-1B Lancer bomber.
