Pearson Engineering takes aim at Spanish armoured vehicle programmes

Pearson Engineering of the United Kingdom will supply General Dynamics European Land Systems - Santa Barbara Sistemas with one set of combat engineering and countermine equipment for installation on one of the five 8×8 Vehículo de Combate sobre Ruedas (VCR) prototypes under development for the Spanish Army.

The VCR – which is derived from the General Dynamics European Land Systems - MOWAG Piranha 5 design – will replace the service’s 6×6 BMR-600 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and its variants.

The engineering and countermine package comprises a Common Interface (CI) attachment system, Earth Anchor Dozer Blade (EADB), Light Weight Mine Roller (LWMR), and a Surface Mine Plough (SMP).These can be rapidly installed on the front of the VCR to meet the specific field requirements.
