10 October 2017

The US Army now has requests for proposals out for its Common Robotic System – Individual (CRS-I) and Route Clearance Interrogation System (RCIS) unmanned ground vehicles, and expects to down-select vendors early in the third quarter of fiscal year 2018 (FY 2018), Bryan McVeigh, project manager for Force Projection, told reporters on 10 October at the Association of the US Army’s (AUSA's) annual conference.

CRS-I is to weigh less than 25 lb and includes a range of payloads, advanced sensors, and mission modules. It also includes a universal controller (UC) that can maintain active or passive control of other unmanned systems.
