Armed clashes kill two police officers and 12 unidentified militants in Mozambique's Delgado

TWO police officers and 12 militants were killed during clashes that broke out when 30 unidentified militants armed with AK-series assault rifles attacked three police stations at the port of Mocimboa da Praia in Mozambique's Delgado province on 5 October, Radio Mocambique reported. Two of the militants were also arrested. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, although some local unconfirmed reports attributed the attack to Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen.
