Singapore retires three Fearless-class patrol vessels

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) has decommissioned three more 55 m Fearless-class patrol vessels.

The locally built platforms, which were formerly in service as RSS Sovereignty , RSS Unity , and RSS Justice , were retired in a ceremony officiated by RSN Chief Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong at Tuas Naval Base on 3 October.

The three ships first came into service with the RSN in February 1998. “Over the last 20 years, the ships had valiantly safeguarded Singapore's maritime interests and territorial integrity through numerous operations at sea, such as maritime surveillance, and patrol and escort operations,” said Singapore Ministry of Defence in a statement on the decommissioning.
