Rolls-Royce is engaging with India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) about potential collaboration on gas turbine technologies, a senior company official has confirmed to Jane’s .
Glenn Kelly, vice president of customer business for defence at Rolls-Royce India, said the potential collaboration programme is geared towards supporting Indian efforts to develop indigenous capability. He added that such co-operation is supported by strengthened defence ties between the United Kingdom and India.
“India is a strategically important market for Rolls-Royce. Naturally we are exploring a number of growth opportunities while building on our long-standing presence in the region,” he said. “We are in constant discussion with DRDO on possible opportunities for technical collaboration in gas turbine technology.”
