Under the intensified co-operation, Macedonian defence experts will visit Georgi Stoykov Rakovski military academy in Sofia in January 2018 to share experience and advice on Macedonia’s new strategic defence review scheduled to be completed by mid-2018. Co-operation between Macedonian and Bulgarian special operations forces will culminate in a joint military exercise in 2018. Under consideration is the possibility of Macedonian officers attending Nikola Vaptsarov naval academy in Varna, including for specialised military medical training.
