Digital Barriers showcases SmartVis Tripwire face recognition system

22 September 2017

Digital Barriers provided the first public display of its SmartVis Tripwire non-consensual face recognition system at DSEI 2017 in London. In use with European military customers as well as security agencies in the United States and Asia, SmartVis Tripwire provides a very narrowband live video stream of under 20 kbits/sec over a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) connection. It can be hosted on Windows, Android, or iOS platforms.

Manuel Magalhaes, Digital Barriers' vice-president, global alliances, told Jane’s that depending on the camera lens SmartVis can identify faces at up to a 300 m range and can provide a match in less than a second from a database of three million.
