Safran secures first order for Paseo NS surveillance and fire-control system

19 September 2017

French defence company Safran has received a first order for its Paseo NS (naval system) shipborne multifunction EO surveillance and fire-control system.

The system will be supplied for the new frigates of an undisclosed Asian navy, the company said in a media release issued on its website. “Delivered at the end of 2018, these Paseo NS sights will offer day/night target designation and surveillance capabilities,” it added.

According to Safran, the gyro-established Paseo NS system can be used for surveillance and fire control of naval guns of all calibres, but it is particularly suited for 40 mm, 57 mm, 76 mm, and 100 mm cannons.
