BAE Systems launched a fifth-generation version of its NAUTIS mine countermeasures (MCM) command-and-control system at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2017 conference in London.
Dubbed NAUTIS 5, the system incorporates a number of new features, including new and improved command-and-control systems for autonomous and off-board systems.
NAUTIS is BAE Systems’ flagship MCM and autonomy mission system. It entered service in the United Kingdom in 1988 and subsequent versions have been fitted to more than 60 ships globally from seven navies. It controls all combat systems and platform equipment essential to MCM mission effectiveness, with particular emphasis on situational awareness, mission planning, precise navigation, minehunting sonar, unmanned vehicles, and ship control.
