DSEI 2017: UMS Skeldar launches lease deal for V-200 UAVs

12 September 2017

UMS Skeldar – the joint venture (JV) between Saab and UMS Aero – chose the opening day of London’s Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2017 exhibition on 12 September to launch a leasing product for its V-200 rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in combination with global private leasing company JetLease.

UMS Skeldar will introduce the financial package, featuring dry and wet leasing, to also include optional payloads such as Sentient Vision Systems’ Visual Detection and Ranging (ViDAR), which uses 5 to 10 cameras to provide between 180- and 360-degree coverage for persistent wide-area maritime search missions.

Axel Cavalli-Björkman, CEO of the Swiss-Swedish UMS Skeldar JV, said in a statement released to coincide with DSEI, “This exciting new partnership with JetLease makes our Skeldar V-200 accessible to a range of customers in the ‘blue light’ sector – police, security and emergency services, search and rescue – and emerging nations’ military markets.
