US company DRD Tactical (Stand N5-186) is showing its Kivaari 338 Lapua Magnum semi-automatic sniper weapon system at DSEI 2017 this week.
This is the latest addition to the company’s patented quick-takedown rifles, which are designed for compact portability and discreet carry, thereby providing the required firepower without the need for traditional long gun cases.
The Kivaari is chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum or .300 Norma Magnum with a semi-automatic gas-operated system. DRD Tactical claims it offers the most covert long-distance rifle with 1-MOA (minute of angle) or better accuracy with Lapua factory ammunition. Kivaari means ‘rifle’ in Finnish, which is appropriate given that final development of the .338 Lapua Magnum ammunition was completed in Finland.
The Kivaari comes in a hard case or tactical backpack for military snipers to carry it over long distances. It has already been exported to the UK, France, Canada, UAE and Malaysia.
