First-time exhibitor Norco Holdings (Stand S4-250), a Poole, UK-based manufacturer of lightweight composite structures and GRP mouldings, is targeting DSEI to promote its increasing capability in providing lightweight and lower-cost composite structures to the defence sector.
‘‘Our recent experience on diverse projects, including UAVs, naval workboats and simulators, ensures we can offer customers world-class expertise in their composite requirements and we look forward to demonstrating this at DSEI this year,’’ said Mark Northey, Norco’s managing director.
Within the defence industry, Norco manufactures satellite dishes and radomes to extremely tight tolerances. Use of high-performance prepreg materials, combining low-loss skin and core materials, as well as innovative manufacturing and painting techniques developed in-house, all help in minimising transmission losses.
Norco has also pioneered in-mould surfacing solutions to improve reflectivity at frequencies above 8GHz.
The company has a complete capability in composite manufacturing, stretching from CAD design for manufacture, through patterns and moulds, to component production using sophisticated processes and finally assembly and fit. It also operates within the aerospace sector, manufacturing UAVs and flight simulators.
Norco’s stand also includes product examples from two of its key customers − Sesanti Cameras and Vislink Satellite systems.
