On 6 September, the US Air Force (USAF) awarded Boeing the sixth and final contract for the Aerospace Systems Air Platform Technology Research (ASAPTR) programme, according to a Pentagon statement.
Aurora Flight Sciences, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, AAI, and General Atomics-Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) were awarded the remaining five contracts. The awards are all USD499-million fair opportunity, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) shared-ceiling contracts.
The Pentagon provided few details in the contract award, other than stating that the awards will provide research for affordable, revolutionary capabilities for warfighters; it had not responded to a request for comment from Jane's at the time of writing.
