On 5 September the Polish WB Group signed a contract at MSPO with Ukrainian company SpetsTechnoExport for the delivery of Warmate loitering munition.
The company did not reveal the contract value or the number of loitering munitions ordered.
With a range of 12 km, the system exists in vehicle-mounted and man-portable versions. It can be operated by one person and is launched from a pneumatic launcher.
Warmate’s primary flight mode is autonomous and it can be pre-programmed before launch. After take-off, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) follows a series of waypoints according to the flight plan. At any point during flight, three additional modes can be activated: co-ordinate, cruise, or attack.
Warmate is compatible with three interchangeable warheads equipped with either a day or infrared camera: training, 300-1,000 g high explosive, and anti-tank. The basic 300 g variant of the latter is capable of penetrating 120 mm of reinforced homogeneous armour. The system allows target assessment before launching a strike and automated targeting using video-tracker technology.
