Army-2017: Kalashnikov unveils BK-16 fast attack craft

After the acquisition of the Rybinsk Shipyard, the Kalashnikov Group is diversifying its boat portfolio, which includes the BK-16 fast attack craft (FAC) unveiled at the Army-2017 exhibition.

The BK-16 is intended for offshore operations, troop transport, fire support, counter-piracy and counter-terrorism missions, and search and rescue operations.

The FAC has a full displacement of 19.5 t, a length of 16.45 m, a width of 4 m, a draught of 0.87 m, and a height over waterline of 4.33 m. It has two crewmembers and can transport up to 19 soldiers. The craft has a cruising range of 400 n miles and an endurance of one day.

The BK-16 is powered by two engines with a power output of 780 hp each.

The FAC displayed at Army-2017 is armed with a remote controlled weapon station, heavy machine gun and several medium machine guns.
