The Indian Army (IA) is to release a list of 11 projects worth a total of INR176.4 billion (USD2.75 billion) under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, including major procurement to enhance ground vehicle mobility, firepower, and survivability.

The army wishes to execute these as a priority with participation from Indian private industry following repeated delays and bureaucratic issues with public-sector companies. The list approved by the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) last month specifies no timelines for the procurements, however.
