03 August 2017

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will deploy six F-16D+ combat aircraft, as well as 110 personnel and associated support equipment, for a flying training exercise to be hosted by the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) from 30 August to 25 September at the Ohakea airbase.

New Zealand's defence minister, Mark Mitchell, said in a 2 August statement that while the contingent will be located at Ohakea – the country's third-largest airfield – the aircraft will carry out training missions throughout New Zealand, including day and night flying, using New Zealand air-weapon ranges, and conducting training at both high and low altitude.
