As of 4 July 2017 North Korea has an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capability and the range to reach North America and Hawaii, Admiral Harry Harris, commander of US Pacific Command (PACOM), said on 27 July 2017. Adm Harris added that "the US and the rest of the world must be wary of North Korea's developing nuclear weaponry progress" and that while the global community must count on China to help curb its neighbour's capability, there still remains growing concerns about Beijing's own actions in the Western Pacific region.
