Colombian Navy christens OPV Victoria

13 July 2017

The Colombian Navy (ARC) christened offshore patrol vessel (OPV) ARC Victoria during an 8 July ceremony in Cartagena. The platform, based on Fassmer’s OPV-80 model, was built by Colombia’s state-run COTECMAR.

Victoria is 80.6 m long, weighs 1,800 tonnes, has a maximum speed of 21 kt, and can remain at sea for up to 40 days. The platform has two rescue boats, a crane that can lift up to 5.5 tonnes, and a hangar for a Sikorsky S-70B Seahawk helicopter.

COTECMAR has constructed two similar platforms, 20 de Julio (PZE 46) and 7 de Agosto (PZE 47).
