Indian defence supplier Reliance Defence Limited signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with French aerospace component manufacturer Daher Aerospace on 22 June.
The deal, signed at the Paris Air Show, is probably aimed at supporting fellow French company Dassault’s EUR8 billion (USD8.9 billion) sale of 36 Rafale aircraft to India, which was agreed on the condition that offsets equivalent to 50% of the contract value would be honoured.
Reliance, which describes itself as “a key partner with Dassault Aviation for the largest ever offset programme in India”, hopes the deal with Daher Aerospace will foster co-operation on design and manufacture of composite parts and aerostructure components.
