23 June 2017

L3 Wescam has updated its MX family of modular electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) turrets, Jane's has learnt from a company spokesperson at the Paris Air Show.

Paul Jennison, vice-president of government sales and business development, highlighted the improvements on the company's MX-10 model, which include a mid-wave infrared (MWIR) thermal imager with high definition (HD) 1,280x720 pixel focal plane array (FPA); a 1,920x1,080 pixel daylight spotterscope with a triple field-of-view (FoV); and a choice of either a narrow-FoV (compatible with night-vision goggles) or wide-FoV 852 nm laser illuminator.

Jennison also revealed that an internally funded and developed automatic tracker is being deployed across the full MX-range.
